Silvia Costanzo was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She graduated from the Conservatory “Juan José Castro”, of the Province of Buenos Aires. She received musical education from the following masters: Irma Costanzo, Ljerko Spiller, Pedro Chiambaretta and Gerardo Gandini.
She attended diverse seminars given by Abel Carlevaro, Miguel Ángel Girollet, María Isabel Siewers, Jorge Martínez-Zárate and Eduardo Isaac. On many occasions, Silvia Costanzo was awarded different scholarships to take training courses both in Argentina and abroad.

She performed as a soloist and also as a member of a chamber group in the main theaters of Buenos Aires and provinces (Cervantes National Theater, San Martín Cultural Center, Recoleta Cultural Center, Golden Hall of Colón Theater, Golden Hall of Municipality of La Plata, Roma Municipal Theater, Spain Embassy, La Scala de San Telmo), on radio and television programs (channel 7, channel "á", LS 1 Municipal station, LRA National station, 97.5 Classical station, etc.).

Furthermore, she was invited by the Argentine Catholic University (Universidad Católica Argentina) and the composition workshop of master Gerardo Gandini for the first performance of works composed by young Argentine musicians at Fundación San Telmo and the Notary Association of Buenos Aires (Colegio de Escribanos de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires).




In 1987 she was finalist of the Contest "Heitor Villa-Lobos", which was sponsored by the Brazilian Embassy. In 1992 she was finalist of the XIII Series of Cultural contests "Coca-Cola in Art and Science", sponsored by The Coca-Cola Export Corp., in the field of Argentine Music.

Since 1984 Silvia Costanzo is part of the instrumental group which accompanies soprano and musicologist Eleonora N. Alberti in concerts of Oriental and Iberoamerican traditional music. With this group, she has participated in two compact discs and in international tours with the sponsorship of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Argentine Republic.

She has performed in relevant series of concerts, such as: "Series of Great Concerts", School of Law (1997); “Series of Ancient Music of Collegium Musicum”; Larreta Museum (1998); “II and III International Festival Guitars in Concert”, Presidente Alvear Theater (1998/1999); “Series of Concerts as Soloist together with the Chamber Orchestra Ciudad de Ituzaingó” (1997/1998); “Series of Christmas Concerts 1999”; Metropolitan Cathedral, sponsored by Fundación Bank Boston; “Series of Concerts 2000”, Center of Piano Studies of Buenos Aires (Centro de Estudios Pianísticos de Buenos Aires).

 

Silvia Costanzo has also performed with outstanding personalities of popular music and remarkable theater performers: Antonio Agri, Cacho Tirao, Teresa Parodi, Nati Mistral, María Luisa Robledo and Walter Santa Ana, among others.
Miss Costanzo is specially interested in the Hispano-American guitar repertoire and has recently presented a compact disc as a soloist, with a collection of works belonging to American and Spanish composers.

She is a regular professor of chair Guitar studies at the Conservatory "Juan José Castro" of the Province of Buenos Aires and at the Provincial Conservatory of San Martín (Province of Buenos Aires).
